The beneficiary of a three-million-dollar renovation in 2000, the National Museum of Civil War Medicine now features 7,000 square feet devoted to the medical story of the Civil War. Exhibits cover pre-war medical schools, the physical exams war recruits had to pass to serve, the rigors of camp life during the War, and much more. The museum resides downtown, a few blocks east of Baker Park.
