A fixture of the Historical Society of Frederick County, the Roger Brooke Taney House is a restored property once owned by the fifth Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Featuring a root cellar, a smokehouse, slaves quarters, and other interesting remnants of 19th-century middle-class life, the house offers tours and special events to the general public. It lies downtown, just south of the east end of Baker Park.
