Established in the mid-1800s, Mount Olivet Cemetery is a historic burial ground with more than 34,000 occupied plots. Considered one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the eastern part of the country, it features acres of elaborate gravestones, beautiful gardens, and the Mount Olivet slope itself, where many war veterans and other distinguished patriots lie. The cemetery lies in the downtown area, a few blocks south of Baker Park.
